The next-generation Opel Grandland has arrived in South Africa, offering a stylish, spacious, and versatile SUV designed specifically for family-oriented consumers in the crossover segment. Drawing significant inspiration from Opel’s Experimental concept car, the Grandland brings innovative design elements and advanced technologies to the production line for the first time.
A key highlight is the new Intelli-Lux Pixel HD lighting system, featuring over 50,000 individual lighting elements. This sophisticated technology ensures precise, glare-free illumination and introduces dynamic welcome and goodbye animations projected in front of the vehicle. Complementing its dynamic look is the iconic 3D Vizor grille featuring Opel’s illuminated Griffin logo, central to the Vizor design, and the permanently illuminated “OPEL” lettering at the rear.
Dimensionally enhanced, the new Grandland measures 4,650mm in length, 1,905mm in width, and 1,665mm in height, providing increased passenger comfort and storage space. Its boot volume has grown to 550 litres, expandable to 1,645 litres with rear seats folded.
Inside, passengers are welcomed by innovative Intelli-Seat front seats certified by AGR (Campaign for Healthier Backs), featuring adjustable pneumatic bolsters, ventilation, and massage functions. Sustainable interior fabrics made from recycled PET materials and a central 16-inch display enhance driver experience and connectivity. Thoughtful storage solutions include the semi-transparent 'Pixel Box' for safe smartphone charging.
Powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine, the Grandland GS Line delivers 134 kW and 240 Nm torque, paired with an automatic transmission. It achieves fuel efficiency figures as low as 5.3 l/100km on open-road conditions.
Priced at R789,900 incl. VAT, the Grandland is supported by Opel’s comprehensive aftersales package, including a 5-year/100,000 km warranty, roadside assistance, and a 5-year/90,000 km service plan, ensuring dependable ownership and peace of mind for South African families.
