Range and performance The Dolphin is built on BYD's e Platform 3.0 and uses the Blade Battery with a claimed range of up to 340 km. Performance is smooth and linear, as is typical of electric vehicles, and the Dolphin handles everyday urban driving as well as regular highway use without any meaningful compromise. AC home charging and DC fast charging are both supported, making it practical for a wider range of owners than the Dolphin Surf.

Interior and equipment The Dolphin's cabin is notably better specified than the Dolphin Surf. It features a larger touchscreen infotainment system, improved interior materials, and more comprehensive connectivity.
